James has a slim muscular body that was developed through years of training at the Thunder Ninja Academy. His dark blond hair is spiky and is overall appearance is handsome enough to get heads turning. He usually wears a black jack that is always open revealing his black T-shirt. He also wears black jeans and black sneakers.

In his ranger form, the torso of his uniform is gold with the symbol in the front black instead of the usually gold of the thunder rangers. Like all thunder rangers, he has gold shoulder pads, black and gold arm bands, gold helmet decorations and gold colored boots. The arms, hands, neck and pants of the uniform are black as well as the helmet. The gold decoration of his helmet looks exactly like the gold decoration on Hunter's Crimsion Thunder Ranger uniform and his gold belt has a horizontal black strip in the middle.

Personality:

James can be best described as a battle hardened warrior who can leap into action at moment's notice. Since he has been fighting alone since the day he has become a Power Ranger, he feels more comfortable fighting alone than with a team backing him up. He also feels that a team would just slow him down anyway since he'd have to worry about his teammates getting hurt. As for his identity as a Power Ranger, James can't see himself past that which is the main reason why his greatest fear is to lose his ranger powers.

As a fighter, James prefers haste above all else since it's usually the key factor in deciding who will win in a fight. When it comes down to his political views, James is a liberal in his views since he believes that it's the government's job to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. However, he doesn't trust the U.S government the way it is today since he feels that it's mostly controlled by big business due to lobbying and the large campaign contributions.

Overall, James is a good person since he's mainly out there fighting as a Power Ranger to protect and defend others. Especially the ones he cares about which is another reason why he prefers to work alone. He also has He usually is calm and level headed, but he is prone to emotional outbursts like any other person.

James was born in Blue Bay Harbor with his father being an accountant and his mother being a stay at home mom. For the fifteen years of his life, it was relatively normal. He was a straight A student, had a good amount of friends and took karate after he begged his parents to let him take it. When James turned 15, he was enrolled into the Thunder Academy where he learned the ways of the Thunder Ninjas. His days at the academy toughened the 15 year old up as it tested his body and mind to the extremes. Even when he was getting good marks, he sometimes doubted himself.

By the time James turned 17, he started to gain more confidence in himself as he noticed that he was better than most of the other students. This fact became very clear to him as he was able to beat some of his fellow students with ease. Everything seemed to be going well for him until he turned 19 and was kidnapped by Luthor along with most of the other students from the ninja storm academy.

A year later, he was freed with the other ninja students after the Ninja Storm Rangers defeated Luthor and he had little to no memory of his captivity. James graduated several months as his class's valedictorian after he was freed and was given the Gold Thunder Morpher along with a megazord since his sensei felt that he could do great good with it. Since there were still monster attacks at Blue Harbor Bay despite the fact that Luthor was defeated, Ben always went out to fight these monsters alone.

James took his role as a power ranger seriously saving the day more times he can count. When he was 20, Messegog brought back all of Earth's enemies with a machine including Luthor. Before all of the rangers were transported to the year 2004, James was about to fight Luthor and before he was able to make his first move, he was transported to the year 2004 where all of the rangers got their powers back. Since James was used to fighting alone and felt that the fully restored Ninja Storm Power Rangers would hold him back, James moved to Reefside city since that's where Messegog's enemies, the Dino Ranger were. After all, there was a bigger chance that he'll encounter Messegog there. He also wasn't too thrilled that rangers from the past were being relied upon since it was the new generation's duty to handle this problem and there were still other Power Rangers that had their powers, like the Space Rangers. It also didn't like the fact that the rangers were fighting against these enemies in the past, where the time line could easily change.
