Katniss was in a rush. She had just finished her last school final for the semester and was ready for summer break. Next year she would be a junior; the year would be full of ACTs and SAT testing, and maybe to start looking into colleges, maybe, that was unless she would take a year off. She shrugged, and road her bicycle a mile or two from school, to down town to the coffee shop she worked at. This was probably where she was going to be spending most of her time anyways.
She was rushing, as she hadn’t had planned to get distracted talking to her friends, and relaxing a ways right when the final bell rang for the summer. She just barely made it with time to spare, chained up her bike, and dashed in, heading in the back. “5 mins off your pay Kat! You can’t keep doing this!” the owner shouted at her, after serving a customer. “I’m sorry Jimmy! But it was the last day of school and…” She replied tying her apron around her waist, “No excuses and get to work. Take orders and clears those tables!” He ordered. The bright red sighed, glad this was Jimmy’s last week, he was moving to Maine, for whatever reason she didn’t know.
Lil Red put her usual smile, forgetting all the bad, and started doing her job, quickly and effiently. As the day went ahead, and the rate of customers was heading down as the day reached about 5:00pm she started cleaning of shop as always. Picking up a cup someone had left, she turned knocking into someone on accident. The coffee spilling on the person’s shoes and the floor. “Oh! I’m so sorry! Here let me help! I’m so so sorry!” she said bending down quickly to clean it up with a rag.
