It had only been a few weeks since her life changed forever, and Chelsea was still getting used to things. Not long ago, her biggest concern was helping to support her family, now she found herself thrust into a war fought not only on this planet, but others as well, and she was doing it superhero style. Yeah, it was safe to say that life was a little bit stranger now. At least she had friends now, or at least a group that she got along with for the most part. She was still getting to know them actually.
Ethan, she was having trouble relating to. She was never into the whole computer gaming culture, so she had trouble understanding him most of the time. Still, he was nice enough and she was sure that she could count on him in a battle.
Trent was nice enough, but too quiet for her taste. He was cute though, and he did have a talent for art that took her breath away. She would have to work on getting him out of his shell a bit more.
Kira was the only other girl on the team, and while Chelsea had never had many girl friends, she really liked Kira, and the two of them had been hanging out more and more lately, especially since Kira played daily at the cafe where she worked. It actually felt nice to have a female friend for once.
Connor was the one that she got along the best with though. He shared her love of sports, even if he whined like a baby when she had stopped every one of his shots the one time she agreed to help him practice on the soccer field. Funny, he had not asked her to do that again in some time.
Then there was Dr. Oliver. She was still a little creeped out that her science teacher was fighting next to her as well as serving as her mentor on the team. She had to admit that his experience and knowledge was dead useful, but she still could not get used to the fact that she and the rest of the team almost always hung out at his home/base, with Connor annoying the teacher by always eating his food. Dr. Oliver could be very protective of his turkey.
That was where she was now, in the basement lair....alone. She felt as though she was having trouble fitting in, and was kind of hoping that Dr. Oliver's wife was around to help talk her through it. She had met Kim a week prior and the two had hit it off immediately. She saw the older woman as the older sister that she never had, and felt completely comfortable around her. If anyone could help her sort through these issues, it would be her. So here she sat, patiently waiting and thumbing through a well worn issue of Vogue that she guessed belonged to Kim.
She could wait.
