"A girl as good as gold" (Kelsey)

Vince had been going to Reefside high school for a few weeks now and had been doing OK. He had been chased by a couple bullies every now and then but had not been hurt. He was doing OK in his class's but didn't have that many friends. He couldn't have friends over to his house to hang out because he did not have a house. He lived in the command center the base of the mighty morphin power rangers of whom he was the white ranger.

Vince was just walking in the hall way heading for his first class when he spotted a certain brunette who he knew to be the gold ranger of the dino thunder team which he found out by going through the ranger database when he got bored. He had seen her a few times but had been to shy to speak to her. He had to fix that. He quickly ran up to her but stopped and tapped her shoulder.

"Hi, Your names Kelsey right? My names Vince, I think we have our first class together and lunch too."

Vince spoke softly and gentle to the shy brunette so he wouldn't startle her. He had seen her around school, she was always the shy girl the very opposite of him when he was not around pretty girls. He just rolled back on his heels gently hoping she would walk and talk with him.

What a week she thought as she walked from her first class that day. She couldn’t wait to get home and then she would go somewhere when she did. Maybe she would hang out at the Oliver’s or Hayley’s they seemed okay when it came to it but she preferred Hayley who had a good outlook and a kind heart for the most part. Walking down the hall she heard someone come up to her and started talking she looked at him her eyes calm but she moved away can I help you? she asked her voice sounding cold.

She turned and kept walking her hair falling over her eyes. She had no interest in him and that much was clear. After her father she didn’t like any male most of the time. Pulling her hood over her face she kept walking humming a song in her head as she stared ahead. Hopefully the boy would get the clue and leave her alone otherwise she would have to put him in his place which would not be a fun thing for anyone involved sighing quietly she stopped and bought a soda waiting patiently.

Vince pouted gently when Kelsey gave him a cold look when he tried to be friendly toward her. He didn't know what could make her not want to talk to him upon sight but Vince was no quitter. He watched her pull up her hood. She truly was distant. Vince was some what as well after he lost his parents. He just quietly followed her until she stopped at the drink machine to get a drink. He then stood next to her still smiling at her gently. He would have to bring up the one thing they have in common.

"Well, You see Kelsey, you and I are in the same line of work. Very colorful Job it is too. So, what's your favorite color? Mine would have to be white. I bet if we got to know each other you could show me how golden you really are."

Vince then reached down into the soda machine and took out the soda Kelsey had just paid for and then gently put it in her hands and quickly let go remembering that each Dino thunder Dino gem had a special power. He didn't know what her power was so he had to be careful. He just motioned in the direction they were heading.

"Ladies first."

Vince then just sighed gently, He got a strange feeling from Kelsey, She seemed hurt..damaged like he was. He wanted to help her if she would let him. Maybe just maybe, they could save each other.

She was walking towards her class when the boy came back up and started to talk she glared at him no idea what you’re talking about she said simply and kept walking her head down as she pulled her hood over her head. why did that baboon think he could come up and start going on and on as she got to her class she heard the door open and didn’t even have to glance up as his voice kept going “guess I’m skipping she brushed past him as she walked down the hall maybe she would go and see and see a movie.

Men always thinking they were the answer to every problem a girl could have as she jogged out the front doors she could hear people yelling for her and she picked up the pace as she grabbed the fence and jumped it landing safely on the other side she looked behind her and knew she was in the clear nothing to worry about. Shaking her head she pulled her hood down and started towards the coffee shop and found a place to sit down at a local coffee shop.

She hated when they would do that and even worse when people would come up and just try and be friends she hated it. They all wanted the same thing as she leaned back in the chair and drank deeply and slowly relaxed. She didn’t think that he would follow her and if he did she would scream until that boy was taken away from her and she wouldn’t have to deal with him. Bowing her head she sighed and took her bag out and started to do her homework as she tried to pass the time.

Vince just sighed as he watched Kelsey walk away from him. He just wanted to be her friend and ally. He just watched her leave and knew he couldn't give up. He quietly decided to follow. He watched her from the window as she left school and then began following her. He had no clue what had happened to her to make her so distant. He then began to think back to when she had reached for the drink machine. He had thought he had seen bruises but he wasn't sure.

As Vince followed her to the coffee shop he saw her sit down. He slowly walked up to her and sat down. He just looked her in the eyes with a frown. He tried to look for the bruises on her arms but didn't want to make things worse.

"Look, I am sorry for bothering you but I know something bad happened to you. I have a feeling i know what. I saw some of the bruises. I got hurt but emotionally. I just want to be your friend and maybe help you..I don't mean any harm. Please just give me a chance."

Vince then just smiled hoping that she would give him a chance to be her friend.

She had only been there a few minutes and had just sat down to get her drink when he came in. really? Did he not take a hint stupid stupid people she thought as she shook her head and slowly relaxed. She knew that yelling would do no good if her face was on the news than she would end up with another beating as she stared past him she ignored his presence that was until his loud mouth blurted out that he had seen bruises on her and rolled her eyes I don’t know who the hell you think you are but you need to leave and stop this crap she snapped at him.

Her anger was there now as she stared at him her eyes ice I don’t know you nor do I want to and yet you come in here and start talking like you’ve known me all your life she hissed at him her eyes showing daggers at him as she spoke I don’t want nor need your help go find yourself someone who actually wants you because I don’t her anger was at a peak as she turned her head away from him as well as her back ignoring him completely.

Vince just scowled at the girl now. He may have been a little excessive but all he wanted was a friend. He wanted to see if he could help her. That was a rangers job wasn't it?! He was supposed to help people but yet she wouldn't let him! He just stood face as cold as a stone as she began to go off on him. He clenched his fists trying to keep back his rage because he couldn't hit her god knowing he wanted to. When she finished and turned her back to him he was almost foaming at the mouth with rage now.

"I just wanted to help you! Be your friend! It's obvious the way you walk around school all sad looking that something is wrong! I just wanted to be one of the damn kind ones and see if I could help you! I know that even making a new friend can help but no you had to be miss loner I can fend for myself! It is OUR JOB to help people and that includes each other!I guess you can't help those who don't want to be helped!"

Vince then just grunted and began to walk away. He did not understand people sometimes. He was alone and actually didn't want to be. Why would someone choose to be alone?! As Vince walked away with this question in his mind he was stopped by a flash of light and the appearence of a group of 10 putties and a Octopus monster.

"Freaking wonderful!"

He then shot a look back at the woman who he had just had a fight with hoping she knew what to do.

"Let's get this over with!"
