'Where am I?'
Amelia wandered around the streets--confusion and frustrated evident on her face. It was clear just by looking around that this was not New Tech City. That this was not the sophisticated and advanced city that she was used to. That wasn't to say that this place didn't have its technology but compared to New Tech--well it just didn't really compare to be honest here. She had been sneaking around New Tech--looking for something that the boss needed when she had been plucked up by Grumm and then plucked right back down in this strange new place.
Surprises. She hated surprises. Cause that meant that she didn't know what to expect. And that always put her on edge. She liked knowing what to expect from people and what to do...and what she could do. And not knowing was very unsettling for her. Cause the last thing she wanted was to get ambushed or attacked from behind. And thus why she hated surprises.
The town seemed pretty quiet at the moment though. There wasn't a whole lot of people around much to her dismay. She wanted to know where she was! And what time she was in! She wanted answers and no one was around to give them to her. It was just another factor that left her frustrated. Very, very frustrated. There had to be someone around here somewhere! I mean really! And it was then that maybe someone out there had been hearing her after all. She saw the other and advanced towards her in typical Amelia fashion.
"Hey! Oye! Wait a minute!" she called out to the other as she broke out into a jog. Maybe she could finally get some answers here!

She had found a small house in reef side she had been allowed to leave the palace as long as they had faith in her. Shaking her head she walked out and locked the door wearing a green top and blue jeans she walked down the street her head down. She had done her shopping earlier that day using the money that Rita had given her to use when needed a pretty card that would handle almost anything she needed. Brushing her hair from her eyes she walked into a Starbucks and gotten a coffee and was wandering down the street.
That was when she heard someone call out and she frowned but turned around half expecting one of the rangers but instead it was another girl she didn’t recognize “Hello…how are you? she asked after a moment her voice calm. She had no issues with this one at least she could be somewhat friendly towards her. Taking a sip of her coffee she looked at the girl and rested her hands inside of her pockets. Maybe this one was just lost or something at which case she would be of no use anyway.
Fingering her morpher inside her pocket for a moment she paused I’m Kat…it’s nice to meet you she said after a moment as she removed her hand and brushed her hair from her eyes and took a breath. It had been one of the few times that she had talked to someone besides her former friends since she had been back so this was a nice change of pace compared to what her life had been like the past several months she thought and shuddered.

Yeah okay perhaps running up to a total stranger yelling like that wasn't the smartest idea. Amelia never did claim to be the smartest chick out there. Brash impulsiveness. It was just how she worked. Never mind that the other probably thought she was under attack. A fact that Amelia thought of only after she had made her move...of course. And the girl looked appropriately embarrassed as she took a step back. She gave a slightly nervous laugh...but at least the other seemed clam. At least she didn't seem like she was going to try and attack her. Cause that wasn't the intention here ---surprise, surprise. She just wanted to know where she was and what time it was. That was all. Wasn't such a bad thing now was it?
"Heh. Sorry about that. I--I'm just a little lost. And your the first person I've seen all morning." a little lost? That was the understatement of the year. But she wasn't about to go blabbing it out to the world that she was from 2043 and had not an idea as to why she was here. They'd all look at her like she was an utter nutcase. Which in hindsight she couldn't say that she really blamed them. Its what she would have done and judged the other as if she was them. But she wasn't them. And that wasn't something she wanted to deal with. Not then, not now, now...ever. And so the future thing....that was staying under wraps for now. Thanks anyways!
"Amelia. Or Amy. Take your pick." she said introducing herself as the other gave her name. Kat eh? Interesting enough name. As far as names went that was. And now came the awkward silence. Now what was she supposed to say? Or do? What was the other even going to say to her?
Yeah way to think this one through Amy. Great job.

Not a bad person it would seem which was always a good thing. At least she seemed to be which was not a bad thing relaxing for a moment she moved her hands from her pockets. Anyway such a dainty girl she was sure that she could handle her if things needed to be. Shaking her head to clear it she listened to the girls name and nodded a simple name at least she thought as she looked at her and nodded after a few moments what could it hurt to see what this one needed maybe it would not be so bad she thought and paused.
so what can I help you with? she asked her voice gentle as she looked at her. Finding a wall to lean against she considered the options she could have just blown her off and that had been one of the first thoughts. She didn’t have to be nice to anyone she didn’t want to but in the end had decided to humor her in the end. Maybe this would be worth it but she doubted in the end she would probably end up walking away disappointed as was usually the case.
Tilting her head to the side she listened to the sounds around them a few people walking by here or there most busy with their everyday life how has your day been? she asked the girl in a calm and gentle voice her eyes never leaving the woman almost expecting something to happen maybe even being disappointed if it didn’t she thought bitterly.

Amelia mentally twitched.
There was something different about this girl. She couldn't exactly put her finger on it, but there was something--off here. Amy internally snorted. Hell, there was a lot of things that were "off" about this place. And time. Shall we go through the list again? No. Okay then. But despite that--she was still getting a weird feeling from this girl. Like maybe she was hiding something. Hiding something? Hmm...but what would she of all people have to hide? Bah she really shouldn't be so nervous. She had taken on a squad of some of the most trained rangers in her time ... and their Commander. And she had come out of that pretty well given the situation. She could totally take this pretty little blonde any day. Amy mentally snorted again. This girl probably got all bent out of shape if she got a little bit of dirt on her. Oh brother. It reminded her too much of that frilly little pink SPD ranger. Eesh. But whatever. That was not the point here. Moving on!
And so she shoved the feelings of uneasiness to the back of her mind and simply chalked it up to the circumstances. Then she turned her attention fully towards the other. The other asked what she had needed and The response was immediate and a bit nonchalant if one was to take notice, "Oh I just need to know where I am is all." Boy was that ever the understatement. There were plenty of other questions floating around her head. But she wasn't about to tell the other that. She didn't want the other to think that she was crazy now.
Anyways...
Amy's ears pricked as she heard more people out and about as they went along their own business. She sighed softly as she watched them all walk along. So nice...so calm...so peaceful. They had no worries. They all belonged. Her? not so much. Meh what a depressing train of thought. She was shaken out of her thoughts as the other spoke again. She was asking how her day had been? Huh she hadn't seen that one coming. Specially from a stranger. It was unusual. Huh maybe all people in this time were like that. She mentally shrugged, "Day's been all right. All things considering. You?" she asked. She could hear the city people stirring more as they started another day in their normal lives. Huh normal...yeaaah right.
