A morning as many others didn’t make any sense to Athena at all. This morning was warmer, more begging to come outside and wanting you to burn by its warmth. And warmth was supposed to be a good thing, happy, different. Athena sat in her bed, showered and dressed up but didn’t feel like going outside. She wasn’t wearing anything warm but somehow she didn’t want to face the heat.
She liked her home too much but then again, no outside air is locking yourself away from where you belong. So Athena grabbed her phone and walked out the door into the open air. She lived close to the beach and that would be her destination. The beach is a good start of the day if you even can call it a start.
Athena took a few shortcuts on the road and walked onto the sand of Reefside beach. Her blue eyes moved around to face anything special but all she saw was children and adults hanging around, swimming, baking, bored. Athena smiled when she saw a baby crawl over his buried father on the sand and laugh at his goofy faces.
All together today was a clear and beautiful day. Athena walked closer to the people she didn’t dare to face for days and just passed them not being stared at as far as she knew and just made her way to the benches and sat down on one looking over the people and the water like a queen would look like.
The beach made her think of Russia, of the pain it brought her even though she didn’t ask for it. About the people she left behind and about what she would’ve become if her parents didn’t save up for her scholarship. Athena owed them so much and facing the fact she might never see them again hurts her every day, every night, every second.
With a sigh she sat back breathing in the scent of the ocean, her thoughts lost to the first moment of becoming a ranger. She was on this very beach and she saved lives with stupidity, but became a ranger she didn’t know it was possible. With a happy sigh she just looked around and noticed a person in front of her. OH god! I’m so sorry, did you say something?

This weekend was different compared to most of the other weekends for Ben as he was spending his weekend at Reefside instead of his home city, Silverhills. His best friend, Mike was going to college there and he invited Ben spend the later part of Friday and the rest of the weekend at his apartment. On the Friday that he arrived, he and Mike fought against each other in video game, Star Wars: Jedi Academy until a very late hour of the night. As someone who loved video games, it was common for Ben to stay up late hours of the night playing video games, especially during the start of his senior year. That was until he became a power ranger as he really couldn't afford to be tired during the day since monsters usually attacked during the day when the streets were most populated.
After waking up on the sofa, Ben found himself on the couch with both the T.V and video game system still and an X-Box controller in his hand. Ben would then look over to the other side of the couch and saw Mike sleeping with a similar type of controller in his hand. We must have played until we fell asleep deduced Ben as he walked up to the X-Box and turned it off before turning off the T.V. Ben would then look outside the window and noticed how nice it looked outside and figured that now would be a perfect time to go to the beach alone for now. This was due to the fact that it almost impossible to wake up Mike since he was a heavy sleeper and it was easier to meet cute girls on the beach without him. After all, a fat guy in a speedo wasn't a pleasant site and at best it was somewhat funny.
After eating a "nutritious" breakfast that consisted of two Twinkees and a can of Coke, Ben put on his dark blue bathing suit and took off his shirt revealing his slightly muscular body. His morpher and Spacetime defender weren't on him or even in the city of Reefside since he didn't want Mike to discover them while he was here and he wasn't sure what would happen if his morpher got sand in it or went into salt water. Plus without his hoodie, the morpher would really be easy to spot. Ben would then leave the apartment and took a short walk to the beach. After getting to the beach, Ben continued to walk as he took in the scenery and the attractive member of the opposite sex. As he continued walking, he noticed a beautiful dark haired girl that appeared to be around his actual age. Since she was in front of him, Ben didn't look too long as he didn't want to seem like some kind of perverted creep.
Before Ben was about to walk around her, she suddenly apologized and asked him if he said anything to her. Looking a bit confused, Ben look over to left left and then his right thinking that she must be talking to someone else. The teenager only noticed people walking by which meant one thing and one thing only, she was talking to him.
"I didn't say anything. I was just about to walk around you before you said something to me" said Ben.

Athena never really got these accidents ever since she tried to avoid people a lot. Her biggest fear was judgement since she was only a farm girl after all. Athena grew up alone as only child and never really knew her destiny. This power ranger stuff wasnt her thing at all.
The dark haired girl looked at the boy she had in frotn of her and felt her cheeks gone red. With a bit of feeling like she failed life she bit her bottom lip.
I''m sorry then. I daydreamed and i thought you said something. my name is Athena. she said feeling a bit odd and uncomfortable yet she figured a lot of people met each other this way.
Athena felt bad for attacking this boy with her fears of people in general, she was used to being alone a lot, used to being away from mankind. With a sigh she took a bow in apology and stepped bac to let the boy pass. She couldn''t do much more than this.

The teenage boy watched as the gorgeous girl blush and bit her lip in embarrassment before she explained to him that she was actually day dreaming and that she though that he had said something. As Athena said this, Ben couldn't help but noticed how nervous and uncomfortable she seemed to be which struck him as odd since it was usually the boy who was nervous and uncomfortable when talking to a beautiful girl, not the other way around. After introducing herself, she took a polite bow in apology and stepped back to let him pass. Now Ben couldn't help but feel bad seeing how not only did this dark haired girl seemed to be nervous around people, well at least around him anyway, but she was apologizing for something that really wasn't a big deal.
"It's okay Athena, you really don't have to apologize. Everybody gets lost in their own little world when they day dream and sometimes have no idea what's going on around them. Even I do it every now and then. By the way, my name is Ben and I'm from Silverhills. I take it that your not from around here too?" said Ben with a friendly smile on his face while making eye contact with her. The teenage boy was making the assumption that she wasn't from around here based on her accent.

Athena never met new people his kind of way. She usually sold some corn or defend her farm while being robbed. A friendly meeting or an odd one like this never had been occurred by her before. Athena didn’t feel really comfortable right now, since she didn’t know this boy and didn’t know how he would respond to it.
All she knew was that she had apologized and hoped he would accept it and wont hurt her like most American men did when she bumped into them. As the boy spoke, she was glad he wasn’t upset or mad or had any bad feelings against her. She really appreciated that. Nodding at his question she smiled a bit.
I ehh am from a small farm in Russia, on the boarder of Moscow. Its nice to meet you Ben. [/b] she nodded and smiled friendly. Glad that Ben wasn’t upset relaxed Athena a bit, she was feeling good now, not upset or hurt or damaged. No ben actually was a nice guy so far which she really needed to know.
I live nearby, in the beach house over there. I wanted to be around people but seems I suck at it. she spoke softly with a smile. She wasn’t joking though, she really haven’t been among people for a long time so now being around them felt good.
