The fight was not going well. For him, anyways. For the Stingwingers, it was going great. I'm really getting tempted to just morph, he thought to himself. But he wouldn't. He had grown up with the Power Rangers defending the city and up until Astronema's big attack, they had never revealed their identities and Leo had determined to keep up the tradition of a secret identity, though it had been a bit dicier on Terra Venture than it was here. As he continued to fight, he kept a subtle eye on Amelia. To his relief, she seemed to be holding her own, though she also seemed to be getting irritated with the whole situation. Not that he could blame her, a Stingwinger attack was always a downer. He refocused his attention on fighting, but could feel himself tiring. Come on, hold it together, he urged himself. He couldn't stop fighting. He just had to push himself a little bit more....
Then, movement from Amelia's position caught his attention. He turned as the girl pulled something from her jeans pocket. What is that? Leo wondered. To his surprise, she quickly morphed and then got into a fighting stance. I guess the Ranger's out of the bag, he mused. Well, desperate times, desperate measures.... "Go Galactic!" he shouted and he felt a rush of energy envelop him as his suit covered him. Then, he flipped through the air landing besides Amelia. "What do you say we show these Stingwingers what we're made of?" he asked, unsheathing his Quasar Saber. Without waiting for a response, he rushed through the Stingwingers and began slicing at them.

Amelia's fingers tightened their grip on her saber as she waited for them to make a move. She knew they would. She knew that they weren't afraid of her. And that they would attack her even in her ranger form. Which was fine and dandy with her! She wasn't afraid of these fools either. They could attack her all they wanted. Bring. it. on.
(Oh how wonderful was adrenaline right about now? It definitely dulled down the stinging sensation in her ankle a bit.)
She glanced over to the other as she heard him say that weird phrase (what on earth did that mean) and surprised--well that was the word. A ranger. He was a ranger. Well then that made things more interesting, 'So that was what that thing was. Its a morpher. Huh.' she thought to herself. Well now at least she didn't have to worry about the other giving her flak for anything. But how strange. She thought the SPD rangers were the only rangers on the block so to speak. Well hell what did she know?! She was in 2004! For all she knew, there could have been a million rangers at this time. And once again--this just showed how out of her stinking element she was. Fun times....
He said something snarky like and she couldn't help but smirk--even if he hadn't waited for her to answer. That didn't bother her none. She was more then ready to show these Stingwingers he had called them (what an odd, odd name--but it was an odd, odd creature) what she was made of. She ducked down to avoid one attack before bringing her saber up to slash it across the chest...and then she kept on slashing at them with precision and accuracy that said she was no dummy and that she knew what she was doing...

Leo continued to strike at the Stingwingers, making deliberate slashes at each one. He watched in satisfaction as most of his strikes hit, though he missed a few times, which allowed the the creatures to get in their own hits. He grunted. Okay, this is getting annoying, he thought after a while. He raised his Quasar Saber high above his head and then smacked a Stingwinger soundly on the head. He watched as it fell to the ground in a heap. Wasn't really expecting that to work, but okay, he thought to himself.
As he fought, he kept an eye on Amelia and was pleased to see that she was faring quite well against the creatures. A slash on his shoulder told him that he had allowed himself to get distracted and he refocused on his own fight. After a while, the creatures banded together, took to the skies, and flew away. O...kay. They don't usually retreat like that. Trakeena must be up to something, he surmised. "Power down," he said out loud. Then, he turned to Amelia. "Are you okay?" he asked in concern.

Amelia had just finished taking down several more of the Stingwingers. The fight was going a lot better for them now that they had morphed. These things had nothing on them! Of course not all shots were blocked or dodged and one of the creatures got a fierce shot to the side of her face and Amy grunted softly. She felt that one even from behind the helmet. That one was going to leave a mark. She was just about to take it out when they had all grouped together (well the ones that were left anyways) and flew off into the skies. Flew off? Hey--they were running away! Amy snorted slightly, "Cowards." she muttered the parting shot under her breath as she sheathed her saber and then powered down, the purple ranger suit disappearing. After a few seconds giving the sky where the creeps had been an angry look that held no good wills whatsoever, she turned back to the other. He had powered down and asked if she was all right. Her response was immediate, "Yeah I'm fine." she said as a knee jerk reaction. She was okay. She was always okay! But as she took a step away from the other, she audibly hissed as she pulled her foot up a tiny bit. Okay maybe she wasn't just a-okay. Her ankle just smarted something fierce...but she wasn't about to admit to it. Cause she was stubborn like that (or just plain stupid depending on how you looked at it).
Ugh...maybe she should have just stayed put...

Leo panted as he turned to Amelia, smiling briefly as she accused the Stingwingers of being cowards. That's pretty accurate, he thought to himself. No one could ever accuse the Stingwingers of being brave. He then critically perused her body for injuries, not believing her when she answered that she was okay. Call it his leader instincts or whatever, but he wasn't convinced. He then watched as she took a step and then hissed, pulling her leg up. "Oh, yeah. You're really okay," he said sarcastically as he came closer. "If you want, I can take of that leg for you," he offered. He had taken care of the injuries of the other Rangers dozens of times in the past, and he had actually gotten pretty good at basic first aid. However, he didn't really know Amelia and he didn't want to overstep his bounds with her or imply that he thought that she couldn't take care of herself. "Of course, it's up to you. I---don't want you to think that---" he cut himself off. Shut up, Leo. You're babbling, he scolded himself. He then ran his fingers through his hair. I wonder what this attack was about. Trakeena's obviously up to something, he mused. But what? That's what he needed to figure out. Once he figured that out, he could successfully plan on how to take care of her latest scheme.

'Oh brother....here we go.'
Amy had to suppress the roll of her eyes as she heard the other speak. It was sarcastic. Like he believed her as much as he would have believed that those Stingwingers were nice and some crap like that. She gave a soft scoff. It had been a stretch anyways ...acting like she was perfectly fine even when she knew that she wasn't (twisted ankle, black eye and all). And apparently the other knew it too. Eh it was pretty obvious anyways. She wasn't as great with hiding pain sometimes as she'd like to think she was. But hey she tried--what could you say? You had to give her props for trying. Anyways...
The other spoke offering his help and her ears pricked. He was offering...help? She paused a moment to make sure that her brain had heard him correctly. Okay that was a new one. She wasn't really used to that--people offering to help her. With the crew she hung around with--it was no surprise. In the past four years it had always been every man for themselves. She had to rely on her and only her. And no one else. Which was perfectly okay with her. She didn't care. She really didn't. But still--she had been surprised. She wasn't emotionless after all...
But--it had confused her to.
He wanted to help her? Why? She gave a mental snort at the idea. Crap---if he knew who she really was and what she did, he wouldn't want to help her. Also it would probably look weird too. And heaven forbid if Broodwing or Grumm got the idea that she was paling around with a ranger. She would definitely be in for it then. So no---no she didn't want his help. In fact she wanted to get as far away from him as she could.
"I'm fine. I should get going" she snipped at the other. She stared down at the ground for a long moment before beginning to walk away--however gingerly it may have been.

As soon as Leo had sarcastically said that she was fine, he saw her tense, as if trying to suppress her emotions. After offering his help, she seemed to get confused. But why? Why would his offer to help her be confusing? Wasn't she used to her friends helping her? However, she didn't say anything, and Leo wasn't about to pry into her personal business. That wasn't his style.
When said that she was fine and that she should be going, he nodded. "Of course. My offer's open anytime," he told her. He watched as she headed off, favoring one of her legs. Every thing in him screamed to run ahead and help her, but he got the feeling that it wouldn't be appreciated. With a sigh, he headed of in the opposite direction, trying to get the girl out of his mind.

She probably should have excepted his help. It probably what most other people would have done. Most other smart people that was. Then at least she wouldn't have been limping around like a dolt right now. But she knew she couldn't afford to do that. There was a lot of reason why it wasn't such a good idea. That and she was being a stubborn idiot (not that she would have admitted to it). But it was what it was. She wasn't complaining. Not one bit. She heard him speak again and simply nodded. "Uh...yeah. Sure. See ya around." was the only response the other got. She didn't even look back at the other. She just kept walking onward. 'Though hopefully not too soon.' she thought to herself. The only way they'd probably meet again was as rangers and as enemies. It'd be best to just clear out for now. She'd probably head back to that other town...Reefside was it? And just chill out there for a while. Yeah that sounded like a plan. And so that was that. He went his way...she went her's... ((OOC: FINISHED! THE END!))
