Though he had not met any of them yet, Astronema had told Brendan when she gave him his Psycho Changer that there were others. He hadn't really thought about running into them, or even fighting alongside them against the Power Rangers. Perhaps it was nearsighted of him in the hypothetical sense to not think that way, but he didn't want to associate with any villain that he didn't have to. He believed they would only try to influence his choices, which they undoubtedly would, and get in his way to take some 'glory' for themselves. Unlike them, Brendan had nothing to gain in his mind by earning the favor of the fiends that had formed the Empire of Evil.
Right now Brendan was more concerned with practicing his fencing. He'd taken up a nice, semi-quiet place in a large aqueduct beneath a bridge that went across one side of the lake. It was about ten feet high and twice that wide, so there was plenty of room for him to practice his maneuvers. There were service platforms on either side of the aqueduct, so he wasn't standing in the lake water while he practiced. Climbing down was easy enough if you just followed the ground along one side of the bridge down to the area beneath it. There was even a small handrail for just such occasions.
"Hah!" He exhaled heavily as he gave a swift lunge followed by a circular parry. He tended to get a bit overzealous in his practice size he used his feelings and memories for inspiration. That inspiration often got the better of him, so people peered around the corner of the aqueduct every now and then just to make sure they weren't hearing things. They left in a hurry when he gave them a very strong glare as his energy was running high.

The Silver psycho ranger, That was who John the Red psycho ranger was here to see. He had been watching him from Astronama's ship. Just watching, not studying. He dreaded having to go collect his team mate because to him it felt like he was taking someone's freedom from them. Astronama had leverage on all of her psycho rangers. For John it was the safety of his little brother and sister and mother. John needed to find out what Astronama had on this man.
John teleported down from the ship to where Brendan was, Under the bridge and just watched for a moment as the man practiced. His eyes shifting over the man studying his movements. After a moment he took out his zippo lighter and began to click the lid open and closed to give himself away and then stepped forward slowly.
"Hello Brendan, My name is John. You and I will be working together. I am your leader, or should I say the team leader. The red ranger of the psycho rangers."
John then put his lighter away in his leather jacket pocket and looked the man over again. The man looked strong, what could their queen, their captor have on him that would make him give up his very humanity. This was what he was here to find out.
"I am here to find things out, very specific things. You look strong and you have a good form with that blade, which begs the question. What does Astronama have on you that got you to work for her."
John didn't want to cut corners. Never liked to anyway. If he could help it, John would help this man, save this man like he was trying to save himself. He was trying to save their humanity.

As Brendan continued practicing his swordsmanship his thoughts were interrupted by a clicking of metal. He lowered his rapier to his side and turned to face the person that had boldly strode down into his sanctuary of sorts. No sooner had he turned to face the intruder than the man began speaking to him. He was the leader of the Psychos? Maybe this guy didn't know, but the only person Brendan was willing to take orders from was Astronema. Though that may be subject to change if this man proved to be a worthy leader and his orders didn't interfere with his own plans.
Brendan frowned, shaking his head and staring intently at John. "Leadership isn't something you can just claim. It must be earned." He turned away from the man and went back to lightly practicing his blade strokes. He kept his ears open to what John was saying, though. They WOULD have to work together whether John was the one giving orders or not. They were both Psychos, after all.
Again Brendan stopped his practice and turned to face the Red Psycho. He shook his head once more as well. "She's not forcing me to be here, if that's what you're thinking. She gave me an opportunity and I gladly took it of my own accord." He let his blade rest at his side in his left hand and he scratched his chin with the other. "Justice isn't always as pretty as we'd like to believe it to be. I needed power for justice to happen. And it just so happens that Astronema's goals and my own share a few details in common."
John wanted direct and to the point and that's exactly what he got. Though Brendan's words were a much more simplified version of the truth, the details of the matter were personal to Brendan and he wasn't sure he could trust dispensing such details to John just yet.

John just watched and listened as his fellow psycho ranger explained that he would have to earn his leadership role. At this he just made the red psycho rangers quasar saber appear and held it out as the silver psycho explained that he was there of his own free will or so he thought. John just stabbed the blade into the ground with a cold but not angry look. John had proven himself. He had beaten the Red Galaxy ranger and had taken his weapon as a trophy.
"Do you see this? I took this from the red Galaxy ranger. I beat him and took his weapon as my trophy. I beat their leader. He still lives because there were...complications."
John then just grimiced and made the blade vanish. He thought back to when his humanity took over just long enough for him to be forced to save a mother and her child from a fire he had started almost tipping off that he was actually human. He frowned at this and then looked at his gauntlet and then at Brendan.
"You and me, training. What do you say? I'll show you why she chose me as red. Think you can face me Silver?"

Brendan's eyes flickered as the blade of the Red Galaxy Ranger appeared in John's hand and he stabbed it into the ground. No doubt he went to great lengths to acquire the weapon. The fact that he wasn't able to finish his opponent, though, made Brendan wonder just how close they were in fighting ability. Brendan hadn't had an opportunity to test his mettle against another ranger yet. Even if it was a fellow Psycho, that was fine with him.
The silver vambrace glimmered into existence on his right forearm and he slid his rapier back into its sheath, setting it down to one side. "I don't doubt that you had quite an ordeal to obtain that, but being a skilled fighter isn't the only quality a good leader needs." He raised his right hand, arm extended, and clenched his hand into a fist. "If this is how you want it, though, far be it from me to change your course. I've been wanting to really test my power anyway. If that sabre you claimed is any indication, this will be a worthwhile test."
With a smirk on his face he took his draw stance as if preparing for a fencing duel. "Since you challenged me in my own training spot, you can start us off." Brendan clenched his left hand into a fist so tightly that his knuckles popped. "Silver Ranger, Psycho Power!" He made his morphing call and then waited for John to make the first move once they were morphed. He questioned what Astronema would say about them using their powers against one another, but it was too late to turn back now.

John just grinned as he was sort of praised by the silver psycho. He then accepted the challenge and morphed into his ranger form with a smile. John just looked him over for a moment and revealed his gauntlet that held the red psycho crystal with a grin. He knew that Brendan had to be powerful because Astronama chose him to fight in her team. John watched as his crystal began to glow and he decided that it was time to get started.
"Red Psycho power."
He said with a calm voice causing himself to morph into the red psycho ranger. He then grinned under his helmet and dashed at Brendan sending furious jabs at him aimed for the ribs and chest and then sent a few spin kicks for his arms. John could use his weapon but decided to hold off. He wanted to leave a few surprises. He decided to share some of his history while they trained however.
"She is holding my little brother and sister above me. Keeping our father from beating them and mother. She agreed to let me watch over them if I joined up."
As John fought he pictured his little siblings and his attacks became more powerful as a feeling of longing filled him. He missed them, he hated his father, he loved his mother, and he lost them all because of this stupid job. He would become stronger, so he could keep them safe.

Brendan's eyes narrowed on his opponent, a steely gaze aimed right at his foe's chest. He remained silent beneath his helmet as John began the fight with a full on assault of blows. Brendan wasn't a masterfully skilled fighter, but he had his fair share of 'on the job' experience when it came to fistfights. He was able to bring up knees and maneuver his arms in such ways that the initial barrage was reduced to minor inconveniences instead of painful strikes with a block or a parry here and there.
But when John mentioned his siblings being held over him as leverage to keep him in the ranks of the Psychos and on the side of the empire Brendan's focus wavered. "Hmm?!" He let out only a light grunt. It was as if this information was a surprise attack in itself, because he dropped his guard for a split second when he heard it. He took a punch to the stomach, then the chest, and finally a swift boot to the side of his head knocked him sideways onto the concrete. He shakily rose to his hands and knees, shaking his head.
He was frustrated at himself for letting something like that get to him...and yet he couldn't stop thinking about it. This man's fists burned with an intensity that was undeniable. He now knew why. The Silver Psycho rose to his feet and looked over his shoulder at the man. He felt his head throbbing from that kick even through his helmet. "I underestimated your resolve because I thought you were a puppet. I see that I was mistaken."
He turned to face the Red Psycho once again. He didn't stop to ready up again. He took two quick steps and then two more across the concrete wall next to him, swinging his back leg around in mid-air and aiming a vertical heel drop down on John.
