she still couldn't be considered a good guy. not by a long shot. she helped them now and then, sure, but only when it was convenient for her. if she had something to gain from it, she'd just as soon side herself with master xandred again. but that was the thing. as it was, she didn't gain anything from either side. nothing that did her any good anyway.
sure, there was a certain joy in knowing that she was helping people but even that was dulled by her escapades of evil. she'd been trapped in the netherworld for so long that things like that didn't matter to her much. she hardly remembered a thing about herself and her past. for as long as she could remember, she'd been helping to do master xandred's bidding.
that had only changed recently. she was currently helping the samurai ranger's fight master xandred. when it benefited her in some way, but still. it did help that they'd welcomed her so openly. that's why she kept herself from going back to the netherworld. because the ranger's had been so good to her. they certainly hadn't needed to welcome her with open arms, not after everything she'd done.
maybe it was because they had faith in her, knew she was good deep down. that in and of itself was touching, considering she didn't feel like she was. that's just how good they were, the rangers that is. they'd even take in a stray pup like her, who'd attacked them time after time with no remorse what-so-ever.
hayley kicked at the sand as she walked, debating what to do. she wanted to go to the shiba house, wanted to join the team for real. but at the same time, she wanted to go back to the netherworld too. it was all very annoying. and it was just so hard to choose the right side when the only thing she'd ever known was being evil. spending time with them seemed to help though, even if only a little.
