Brief Overview: joshua is about average, maybe a little short even, standing at five foot five inches. he's about one-hundred thirteen pounds, give or take a few, which is good for his age and height. his body is pretty athletic from years of running, though it's all nice lean muscle.

his black hair is kept short most of the time, though he does let it grow out a little bit sometimes. when he does, it's shaggy and it falls past his ears, often getting in his eyes. either way, his hair is very straight unless he does something to it. his eyes are a dark chocolate brown.

unlike a lot of teenagers, he doesn't have a problem with acne or anything like that. his face has always been pretty clean and clear. he's not the strongest out there, but he isn't weak and fragile either. he's completely ambidextrous, though he prefers using his left hand.

he wears a silver chain around his neck, holding both his house and truck key. both of the keys have a velociraptor engraved on them.

he usually wears clothes that are comfortable and casual. he doesn't like things that are too tight, because it reminds him too much of being tied up. he also covers up as much skin as possible, usually with long sleeves and pants. he only wears shorts and short sleeves when he's playing sports.

Overview: honest and trustworthy, it's extremely difficult for him to tell a lie that's even close to being convincing. he is agile and sneaky and a strong runner. math and science are his best subjects and he's a very determined individual. thoughtful, he usually puts others ahead of himself.

strawberries and junk foods are his favorite foods and he loves plushies and animals. he enjoys playing video games, be it alone or with a friend, and his favorite classes at school are math, science, drawing, and music. he's pretty good at the piano and violin, but he's not all that great an artist. he's also an avid martial artist, though it doesn't seem to help him much in his personal life.

he prefers to spend most of his time by himself. he tries to avoid being around too many people, while at the same time he also tries to avoid being around to few. he can be really skiddish around men, and sometimes even male classmates.

spiders spook him. it's a bit hard to gain his trust and he's quite the stubborn boy. he's not as sickly as he used to be, so he loves playing soccer and tennis and generally being outside. he used to love swimming, but with his scars and bruises he's long since given that up.

he's extremely smart though. he picks things up like it's nothing and he remembers things without even trying. he's never been tested for it, but it's pretty obvious he has an eidetic memory. he also reads really fast and, despite that, remembers every word.

on a final note: he's a pretty laid-back guy and is quite sensitive and can be affectionate. he's not all that friendly and open, but he's not rude or anything either. really, he's just trying to cope with what's been happening to him.

Overview: hiro david lee (joshua's father) was born and raised in tokyo, japan. after graduating from high school, he chose to attend college in the united states. he ended up living in reefside, california which was a short drive from his college in the next town. in college, he studied business, sociology, and psychology. he often participated in work study programs and even before he graduated he was assured a high ranking job within media inc..

danielle kayla carter-lee (joshua's mother) was born and raised in reefside, california. all through high school and college, she studied business and health care. she participated in work study programs that allowed her to travel a bit, ending up at angel grove memorial hospital. after college, she went to medical school and then her career kicked off.

hiro and danielle met in college, during one of the business classes they shared. there was a certain chemistry between them and they were inseparable from the moment they met. eventually, she moved in with him in order to reduce their hosing costs and spend more time together. it wasn't long before they were married and moved into a larger home, one that was big enough to start a family in.

the house wasn't anything too fancy. it sat between two other houses that looked similar to it and it had a fenced in yard with a pool in the back. it was a three bedroom place with three full baths. the master suite was downstairs while the other two bedrooms were upstairs. it had a living area, dining room, kitchen, and a den. it also had a very open floor plan.

their first child was a boy. he had a pretty average life, considering his father was 29 when he was born and his mother was only 21. all the same, they did a great job of providing for him despite still attending college.

his mother died giving birth to him. he got curious when he was five and asked about his mom, to which his father simply told him that she was in a better place. but he knew there was more to it than that and, after seeing the date of her death, he managed to put it together.

when he asked about it, his father told him. while none of his family blames him for what happened, he does blame himself. it's not something he tells anyone, he simply keeps it locked away inside of him.

starting sometime while he was only six, he doesn't remember exactly when, his's older brother started to mess with him. little things at first. getting really close, stroking his arms. things that could be written off as simple affection towards a good little brother.

things got progressively worse over time though. his brother touching him inappropriately, rewarding him for good work with kisses. when joshua finally decided that his brother's actions weren't normal, he threatened to tell. but his brother played on his good nature and kind heart, telling him that he loved him and that if anyone found out he'd be in a lot of trouble. joshua couldn't tell. he didn't want his brother to get into trouble.

so he kept quite and things continued to escalate until his brother was straight up molesting him. his brother fully raped him when he was only eight. he's been forced into something of a 'slave' position. made to act like a dog, being bound and beaten on, doing whatever his brother thinks will humiliate him most.

it's still going on even now and he's pretty much accepted it. he knows that it's wrong but he can't get up the courage to tell anyone. and he doesn't want to lose his brother by getting him arrested, because that could end up ruining his brother's life. still, he does want the abuse to end. he dousn't know what to do though.

he keeps a journal of everything that's happened to him over the years. it reads like a book, depicting a broken boy whose starting to feel used and helpless. it's written almost fully in third person, as if the journal was about someone else entirely. there is the occasional page where he talks about other things. friends, or just people he's met. how he feels about those people. he keeps the journal in a locked dresser drawer.
