The day had started with rain and Jessica didn’t like rain. Jessica had carried her board from Reefside to blue bay where the sun was shining. She had her hair tied back in a ponytail and her mind was totally set on surfing today. With a smirk she jumped out of the car and ran towards the sand hearing voices behind her calling her nuts and childish.

People always called her childish because she was only fourteen years old. But Jess didn’t care, the teenager jumped into the cold water and crawled onto her board floating on the flat water, no waves, nothing. Jessica sighed and laid down on her board.

Maybe she was a bit foolish thinking she could actually jump into a wave here, the weather was great for it, everything was perfect and that little detail just messed it all up. Jessica sighed and closed her eyes listening to the water, the people.

Everything sounded so peaceful, so silent and good. Just no waves and that made her sad, she looked forward to this day for weeks, she even had weird dreams but she wanted this day so badly and there was no wave. Jessica looked at the blue sky and smiled. It was gorgeous, all she needed was a wave.

A new white ranger, Vince had no idea that the day would come so soon. Zordon had told him about the new all female Dino team that required a white ranger which meant Vince had to pass on his first ever morpher to the girl. Vince just held his old morpher in his hand as he watched the girl he was here to see out in the water. Vince was a bit sad to see his morpher go but he knew it was for the best. He was a ninjetti now. Vince just took a deep breath.

"Jessica! Come back to shore! I need to talk to you!"

As Vince called out to the girl a bunch of Z-putties appeared. Zedd knew that the morphers were being passed on and he didn't like it. He took most interest in the white Morpher because it was the second morpher of his former evil green ranger Tommy who got away. There must have been 30 putties there. People ran away screaming and kids ran out of the water. As people ran screaming some Tanga's flew in as back up. Wonderful. It was time to use his new powers. Vince made the ninjetti sign.

"I need crimson ninja ranger power now!"

He then changed into the crimson ninjetti and began to kick down the putties and try to fend out the Tangas, Hopefully Jessica would see that this was her chance to help and that zordon hadn't been wrong.

Jessica's hand rested in the water, she wasnt happy with what she saw, and what she saw were no waves at all. Another sigh as someone screamed her to get back to shore. Looking up she saw a boy screaming his lungs out.

Are you insane? i dont even know you! she screamed not knowing how he knew her. Jessica raised a brow as she saw things rise from the water, her eyes big as they started to attack random people.

Jessica jumped off her board and started hitting them with it, it worked but she wasnt strong enough to hold them off for long. Noticing the boy changed into some super hero she ran his way and knocked on his helmet.

ehh what are they? she asked with a frown and slapped one with her board.

Vince smiled hidden under his ninja clothes. The girl was brave enough to come to his aid. He saw her knock down some putties with her board and nodded when she tapped on his head he laughed happily and tripped some tanga's. He would have to talk fast while fighting off these creeps. He quickly spun to her and put up his guard trying to think about how to answer.

"The human looking things are called Z-putties. Hit them on the Z on their chests to take them out!"

He then spun and kicked a putty in the Z causing it to break apart as an example. He then groaned as the numbers thinned but the Tanga's wouldn't sit still.

"The birds are called Tanga's. They were sent by Lord Zedd because we are picking rangers to take some old morphers we revived. Your sister was chosen as the red ranger and you were chosen to replace me as the white ranger since I got new powers and a new color. Now let's clip these birds wings!"

Vince then ran and kicked a tangu hard in the chest and then spun back to his feet with a smile as he held out the morpher once the bad guys were gone. He just demorphed holding out the morpher.

"will you join us Jessica? It's where you belong."

Her eyes were focussed on the many creatures passing them by and got kicked by vince. Jessica kept hitting them with her board while the guy gave her tips of how to beat those things. Raising a brow she aimed for the Z with her board beating one of those things all by herself.

I know she is! she says one day i will be a hero just like her! I s didnt think it would be today! she called as she kept hitting them with her board and grabbed the morpher without thinking or listening at that point.

being morphed she wore this gorgeous gold and white dress like suit. And a helmet. Throwing her board at a bird, she kicked its head and broke its neck before heading back to vince.

Walking back to him slowly when they were gon e, she threw the thing back at him , turning back intot he girl she was in her swimsuit. Though he held it out to her again and she just frowned.

As he spoke she smiled shaking her head. best day ever! she spoke and took the morpher.

Vince just smiled at his new friend. She had done wonderfully. He patted the top of her head and just laughed happily full of joy. Her first morph and she didn't freak out. He held out his morpher to her to show her that they looked the same but had different coins. It was time to introduce himself to his new friend and ranger.

"Time for a formal introduction and orientation. My name is Vince Ryder, Former white ranger current Crimson ranger. It seems you already know about the power rangers in some form since you know that your sister is the red ranger of the dino rangers. There are three rules that must be followed or you will lose your powers. Rule 1, you may not reveal your identity as a ranger or the other rangers to the public. Rule 2, You can not use your powers for personal gain. Finally rule 3, you may not escalate a battle unless the bad guys force you.

With that said, I must say that for your first time you did very well. I agreed with Zordon's decision to choose you as the new white ranger and I am proud to pass on my powers to you. Guard them with your life."

Vince then gently took out a white colored communicator, the communicator he used to wear and gently put it on Jessica's wrist. He then held up his left wrist to show that he had a crimson colored one.

"Keep this with you at all times as well, I am sure your sister has one by now. Using this other rangers or zordon can get in touch with you at times of great need. If you ever need me don't hesitate to call."

Vince then just burst out laughing and smiled. He sounded like Tommy when he taught his students. It was Hilarious.

"OK, enough with the heavy. How about we get to know each other a little? When I'm not running around as a ranger, i'm a singer and a dancer and a free runner. I live in the command center cause I don't have a home cause right before i became a ranger i lost my parents to a monster attack. I don't have any brothers or sisters and I love frozen yogurt especially the mint kind. What about you surfer girl? What do you do when your not surfing."

Jessica wasn’t sure what she was doing right now. She just fought those monsters and had this weird transform to a hero thing. He called it a morpher but she just didn’t know what to do with it. As he introduced herself Jessica as always failed to pay attention, so she just nodded and pretended ike she heard him.

So I’m a super hero now too?? she asked all excited. She was becoming a super hero and all she had to do was kick their asses with a surf board. Though she didn’t understand those names, she would ask Maria back at the hotel. Looking up at the pretty tall guy she smiled as he bursts out laughing.

Raising a brow herself she just chuckled. Pleasure to meet you Vince. Well you know my name already which freaked me out at first but that’s okay, cause you made me a , power ranger… hero!! she was so hyper and happy, it almost slid off her body like the water.

Jessica looked around but her family was at the hotel like expected. Calling her surfer girl made her smile. nothing else. she said softly, surfing meant the world to her and everyone who knew her knew that.

Vince loved how excited Jessica was about this. Most people would be if they found out they got to be one of the famous heroes the world looked up too. He did feel like what he had said went through one ear and out the other which was understandable because she was young. He could always help her out if she needed it. He smiled at the fact that he made her smile. He just placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled.

"Just remember Jessica you can't tell anyone about being a power ranger except for your sister. You must keep this secret with your life. I am afraid to tell you that you have to know that being a ranger must come first. You are free to persue your surfing dreams but saving the world must take top Priority."

Vince then sighed quietly for a moment knowing he was putting a damper on this whole thing for her. He tried to think of a way to make sure she stayed happy. What usually made him happy when he was bummed.. Frozen Yogurt!

"How about we go get some frozen Yogurt while you wait for the waves to pick back up? I would love to see your skills when there are real waves out there. I bet your gonna be famous once you don't have to be a ranger. Come on it's my treat."

Vince then headed right outside the beach to the refreshment bar to get the frozen Yogurt.

"What kind would you like? Oh and wanna tell me about your sister and other things you do?"

Jessica felt so excited, and she really needed to let her sister know about this because this was pure awesomeness. And she had, a hopefully water proof watch. As he spoke she almost choked mentally in his words. Surfing second place? Was he nuts? Didn’t he know how close she was to become a legend?

We’ll see about that. she said with a nod, looking serious for the first time this day. Surfing wasn’t just a dream, surfing was her life. Feeling her heart beat go faster, that calm answer was all she could give right now. Her eyes moved to him , showing his happy face again but hers seemed to be lost.

Jessica smiled again when he started about frozen yoghurt. I want banana! she said happily and walked with him taking her board out of the sand , carrying it with her. As he asked other questions she thought about it.

Maria is sixteen, she is way smarter and stronger than I am but she is the best friend I ever had compared to my other friends. she said with a shrug, she didn’t have many friends because her life became dedicated to surfing. and I don’t do other things, I started surfing when I was six, and became on pro line for my age when I was nine. she spoke softly.
