Angel Grove Lake was a serene place to go and relax during the summer and spring. Swimmers and picknickers alike often came here. Divers as well and boaters. But today something not so serene was going to happen. An anceint spell and artifact was slowly being uncovered. There was no telling who would find the artifact first. But it would be interesting considering the power that was held imprisoned within this artifact.
When the age of myth and legend was alive there lived a great warrior. One of the original defenders of the greek lands. This warrior turned dark, and became the greatest evil. So powerful and evil that after four teams of defenders he finaly fell to a last ditch trap spell. Being bound in dark space and severed from earth to keep him powerless and away from the people and lands. The release spell was lost on purpose and the artifact that was the keystone for his release was sent wandering the earth. Throughout town the space of evolution of the human race this stone wandered.
But this time it stopped. A slight accident had occured during a museum transport and an ancient artifact was lost. This artifact somehow found it's way to Angel Grove Lake. Nestled at the bottom of the lake next to an outcropping of rock. Waiting to be found, to be used by an un-informed person. Or a well informed person. Depending on that persons intentions, knowledge and alignment. Dark souled people would crave the power and seek it for the power. Light souled people would take it to protect it, keeping it out of the hands of evil. Only time would tell now on who or what would find this artifact.

The morning, one of the most terrible moments of the day. A buzzer waking you up, headache because you slept bad ans the out of coffee problem. Artemis though had a good morning. She woke up on her own, no buzzer needed and she had a great shower along with a nice cup of coffee afterwards.
The redhead was going to the lake today with her camera and make some great spring pictures. Artemis grabbed her camera and carkeys and drove off to the lake. The trip only took 20 minutes but she preferred a nice car around her to get there. Artemis parked at the nearest spot she could find and stepped out of her nice and cool car and into the heat.
With her camera ready she walked over to the lake and saw ducklings with ducks swimming happily around. Artemia ahot some pictures and on one she noticed something under the water. Close to the shore. Arte is kneeled down and reached out for that thing in the water.
Artemis held it with both hands and Fell on her back looking at something she never saw before. Curiously artemis looked at it and tried to clean it off with a towel she brought with her. what are you? she whispered.

Object somehow found it's way into the hands of a young woman. One that had been out taking photographs of the scenery and wildlife. Somehow the waters were clear enough to be seen through the view finder. The artifact was smooth for the most part except for the edges and runes carved into it. Black, grey and silver stone and metals made this strange artifact. It was pulled from it's sandy and watery resting place. Pulled into the sunlight and in the hands of someone who didn't know what they had.
The water, and sand came off with ease once it was dried off. The runes were in circular motion around the upper and lower ends of the artifact. It was relatively cold to the touch. Much more than it should have been for being in the weather that it was. As the young woman studied and pondered over it a chill could be felt pulsing from it's surface and into her hands. If she went to look for information she would find some small tidbits here and there. the destiny of this artifact was now uncertain. What would become of it, and the power it held away from the world?

Curiosity always took over common sense with Artemis. So the red head did nothing more then placing the thing in her bag as quick as she could and walked over to a less crowded place, which contained a lot of trees. Artemis took the thing out of her bag again and frowned. She coukdn't read the descriptions well enough, since it seemed like old greek. Artemis spoke greek but she never read old greek descriptions.
And to be honest they were not even enough to understand either. The stone was rather cold for a stone... It was probably a piece of history, but how came that here? Something greek in angel grove? Artemis sighed and just tried to warm the rock up a little. Wondering if something old lived in there, like you read in books or maybe even hold a spell!
Artemis sighed, what to do with it.. She tried to read it again and figured it is a spell. She mumbled the spell a few times but knowing that it works? No she didn't know. All she knew was that this was weird and weird things like to happen to her. well if you are a hidden prisoner, please tell me you're handsome so i can feel a bit better about myself. she grumbled.

The artifact remained as it was. Even though it was moved away from the lake. When the red headed young woman began looking it over again in a more secluded place nothing changed. The cold of it remained unchanged. The runes around it though slightly worn still readable. Although even her sparse knowledge of reading it didn't help. She was right though in her guessing on what it could be. It was a prison and a spell. Containing a prisoner of great power and from a long time past. With this artifact her her hands and her fumbling through it, things would slowly become clearer. She didn't realize that she was reading the spell in the wrong way. A word or two had been changed and she was reading in the wrong direction.
Those that had made this prison and spell made it so that it would be near impossible to release. Fearing the day if the prisoner inside would ever return. So for now all that the young woman got out of what she was doing was wasted breath and cold hands. But there were very small changes done to the artifact itself. It had gotten colder and the runes became slowly more...readable. And then there was the soft vibrations of power that lashed against her hands. Whatever she was doing was aggravating the stone and metal. Making it awaken and respond. If this continued and she somehow became lucky enough to get the spell right and read it aloud right then she would get half of her hopes at least. But all of that was still yet to be seen.

Artemis felt more depressed by the minute, these things never worked. Like there would show a handsome man in front of her and would tell her that he is an hidden evil thingie. That would never happen. Artemis maybe did had to listen to her father. To set her feelings away and face reality. She rolled her blue eyes and looked at the spell. What was different now? It was like a trap.
Historicans can see it right there, why can't she? Instead of reading it out loud in front of people she hid more into the woods and sat own in a slightly colder place and mumbled something about spells being switched from the rightful place. Again artemis whispered the spell, three different times, the last one she felt something and just dropped the stone. i think i pissed it off! she said with big eyes and stepped back a little.

After some length of time something finally happened. The young red headed woman managed to get something right by sheer luck. The rune spell had been read right by some miracle and the cold of the stone vanished. A pulse of power rushed into her hands causing her to drop it out of reflex. The artifact fell to the earth and landed with a thud. With a flat side staring up to the sky and the runes glowing. A wind from no where began to pick up as the area around her and the artifact became nearly freezing cold. The winds came in and formed a large barrier around her little hiding place, trapping her with the artifact.
Two edges of the artifact split open, releasing white and silver mist. When this happened every evil being in this world would get a sudden fear and thrill of power coming into the world. Beings of great good such as Zordon would also become greatly afraid and concerned. The power that was just released could potentially become a fulcrum point in the balance of power. With the cold barrier and mist filled area a figure was soon forming from the mist. Time was resuming for this being. Knowledge was being amassed and stored into the mind. Slowly as the mist settled a dark shadow was forming.

There's this thing between what to expected, and what not to expect. this is totally not to expect. It became very cold like the sun just escaped the planet, cold enough for artemis to put on her black coat she brought just in case it was going to be a late day. Her eyes moved from left to right, like something was holding her back from running away. She messed up, big ass!
Artemis looked at the stone, creating its own mist and shadow. A shadow of a man, slowly revealing black hair, leather outfit. Damn if she was right now about a hot man, she would never complain about mystery stones again! Artemis frowned, this was well, weird would not be the word.
I was more like FREAKING INSANE! Artemis fell down looking up at whatever was coming next, something told her she did really bad stuff, but what can you see right now? a man, very handsome indeed, locked up in a stone? what is evil doesn't matter, its still a man with a heart somewhere, and that heart just needs the right road to live.
Artemis didn't feel the need to transform, she can fight without it as good as with the suit. eh, hello? Are you alright? she asked a bit worried.

He formed slowly. Body, clothes, knowledge, power and mind. His weapon as well formed across his back in it's sling. The mist began to clear finally and the cold began to fade as the stone sealed itself back up. But it remained cold to the touch and vibrant with a soft glow. He breathed in slowly and deeply. Opening his eyes slowly. He stood there, looking around at the area in which he found himself. Now came the hard part. But with the woman being able to speak and understand his native language.
" Please.....say you are my anchor. Do not send me back into that prison. " His speech came out in Greek language. He was shaky and it showed as he fell to his knees. Being trapped in that thing so long took it's toll. IT would take time for him to get used to the real world again. He looked at the young woman, awaiting to see if she said what he needed. If she didn't he would soon return to that prison. And that he didn't want.

Artemis just stared at it with big eyes like a child staring at godzilla. What she saw was not a dangerous man at all, he didn't look exactly harmless but he sure didn't look bad. Artemis quickly got up and looked at him. He seemed happy to be free yet some sadness crossed his face, hope in his eyes.
His words got her off guard. Anchor? as in soulmate? or just a friend? Whatever he needed now, was health care and food. I suppose so, come on let's get you out of here, you need some water and food. she spoke friendly in his language, as long as he didn't speak english she couldn't get him understanding her at all.
oh how she thanked her father for teaching her 47 languages. She came closer and reached out her hand. I'm not going to let you live in that stone. Its not a good place for a man. she spoke friendly. A prison he called it, well she wouldn't like it either when she was being put inside a piece of a rock.
She looked around in her bag and found some sandwiches and a bottle of soda. she took the drink and the food out and gave it to him. you need it more then i do. she said with sparkling eyes and a loving smile. Artemis couldn't let him just die right her after being locked up in a stone. Thats cruel and an unhuman deed.

He shook his head lightly. She had to say the words. She had to claim it. Not just second guess it. " Say...the words. Say that you are my anchor. That you hold me to this world. Won't work otherwise. " He pushed himself up so that he was at least kneeling instead of on hands and knees. That wasn't the way he should be seen. But as it was he wasn't in much shape to do much of anything other than this. Being trapped so long in that space prison with no movement was something else. He was amazed the woman understood him and spoke the same as he. He had struck an even bigger amount of luck in that and the fact she had no idea in what she had just done.
At her offering the strange food and water he shook his head. " Unable to eat or drink yet. Not until i am anchored to this world again and have had the chance to rest. " He held himself as he sank back a little. The time it was taking was slowly beginning the reversal process. IF he was not anchored soon he would become part of that stone again. Be stuck back in that prison of cold space.

Artemis had no clue what he was talking about. she had to claim that she was his anchor, that he would be anchored to her in this world. If that meant he wasn't going to die she would do everything. Alright, I promise. I'll be your anchor. she spoke and still held the food in her hands. He needed to eat, and now she said it he should eat something.
Seeing him weak just felt wrong, it didn't feel good at all. Artemis sat down as well and wondered why he was acting like this. Of course she had no clue what happened at all, and how he spoke sounded like ancient greece. Artemis knew someone from that area but had no idea if it was in the same time as his.
So she said nothing about it and placed the food on the grass. I'm artemis by the way. she spoke friendly and smiled. She didn't want to scare him off or show any hostility because she just wanted to help him out to stay alive. Artemis liked him already, not because she knew him for two minutes, but because he really seemed like he could use a friend.
Artemis didn't know any danger in him and if there was, she couldn't get out of her promise.

He smiled softly. It was enough to seal the stone now and he felt the rush of this world. He smiled at her and nodded. " Thank you kindly my lady. You have kept me from a fate worse that the underworld itself. Hades can be a cruel god. " He shifted so that he could sit down more comfortably. Rubbing his face as he let himself rest. Everything was rushing back to him and even new things were coming. Slowly as he spoke to her his words became Greek and then English. He was thinking how he could reward this rather lovely young woman for what she had just done.
First things first perhaps should be introducing himself as well. " It's a pleasure to meet you Artemis. I am Killian Darkness. " He bowed his head to her lightly. His mannerisms were nothing like today or what she would be aware of other than from stories. " I am grateful for your words that have saved me. You should know what it means though. That stone is a prison, a doorway to a void in space and time. A means of severing me from this world. It's magic was designed that for me to live, to be up and around on this world my life would have to be anchored to another. A woman would have to claim my life as hers in order to hold me to this world.

Artemis didn’t know what to do or say. She was happy with his happiness and glad she could help out, but she feared that he would discover her secret, about Russia and the rangers, that he’ll back off and leave. Artemis had to try though so she kept her mood up and listened to his thanks. I don’t believe that prison works on people, good or evil souls. It gives them more reasons to hatred and disaster, which can be avoided if people just talk with each other. Even the lost souls can be found if you bother to help out. Artemis spoke friendly.
Artemis had so many questions yet she didn’t want to throw them all at him. He looked nice and charming, and not like those other guys going after only one goal. Hearing his name didn’t startle her or made her scared. please to meet you. she said with a smile and took an apple. His words though made her unable to eat, it was interesting in a bit scary way. But she didn’t feel fear, no, she felt curiosity, and sympathy.
She shook her head, she hated prisons, most of the time people didn’t get any better because of it, it only caused pain and suffering. Well to me you look like you’ve been into that rock too long. And I’m happy that I can help you. I don’t like seeing people suffer because of something they did a long time ago. I always put my past behind me and try not to think about it. Pain usually makes you a better person.

He smiled and watched her. This young woman was interesting indeed. He had not told anything of why he was in there and it didn't seem like she needed to know. She seemed to accept him as he was and that was enough for him. So he breathed in and out slowly and gave a warm smile. " I'm guessing by your clothing that the times have changed a lot. So lets just say i'm far older than anyone you are likely to meet on earth. That prison being magic and all when that was abundant. " She didn't know his name either which made him relieved as well. But now he had a thought.
" You are a kind young woman Artemis. And you have done much by me in terms of good despite a past you don't know. At the risk of looking like an ass....would you consider allowing me to court you? To have the chance to be someone that you can really care for? " He tilted his head lightly to one side. His black curly hair falling in that direction as well. He didn't know why he wanted to ask that but he did. He knew about this world, about the rangers and the fighting. Luckily he didn't know identities of the rangers. Besides, he needed someone to help him get used to this new time.
